Couturier’s umpiring story started in his local tennis club, at only 11 years old. Devoted to the profession, he got certified in order to participate to the 2006 “Trophée National de l’arbitrage” (National Umpiring Trophy) in 2006, and quickly became successful on the umpiring chair. From 2014 to 2016, his passion became his full-time job, and took him from New York to Paris. He umpired 9 Roland-Garros tournaments, 1 US Open, 7 Paris Masters 1000, 2 Monte Carlo Masters 1000, and 3 Davis Cup. This season, he is adding UTS – the most out-of-the-box umpiring experience of all – to his extensive resume.
